DESCRIPTION: Elgin Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, 16 size, 15 jewels, stem wind and set, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance and micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, plain polished hunting case with owners name "J.L. Codd" crudely engraved on gold cuvette, and Roman numeral, outer red 5-minute markers, single sunk, white enamel dial, and blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #11488760, 100.4g TW, c1905.
CONDITION: CASE: Dents; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on cuvette; Cover extends beyond 90 degrees when opened, front, 100 deg.; Bow worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, very light, 4:00, 10:30; Specks of dirt / dust. HANDS: Minute with shallow pitting and loss to blue. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Fine scratches on ratchet wheel; Ratchet wheel with spot of oxidation; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
